Consortium of Popular Culture Collections in the Midwest
KENT STATE UNIVERSITY
At Kent State University (KSU), in Kent, Ohio, the collections of the University
Library's Department
of Special Collections and Archives are especially strong in contemporary
theatre and other performing arts, such as motion pictures, television, and showboats;
selected detective and science fiction/fantasy writers; and popular children's
literature centered in the Saalfield Publishing Company Archives. The department
is also home to the extensive Borowitz
Crime Collection that includes popular media including true crime pulp magazines;
ephemera related to films, theatrical productions, and television programs; posters;
broadsides; penny dreadfuls; and popular true crime books.
